2023 Free Mobile Application Development Project 

Sun Deal IT Solutions Limited is currently working with Dr. Lee Tin Yun to launch a mobile application development research project with an aim to benefit Hong Kong SMEs, providing free mobile application development services to selected SMEs.
 

The 21st century is an era of rapid digitalization and it is believed that most forward-looking companies will definitely invest more resources to improve the digital experience of their customers, such as building interactive mobile applications for their companies or brands, buying ads on social media and search engines, etc., in order to avoid being eliminated in this technology and digital-driven business environment.

For mobile application development, the quality of mobile application development companies varies, and there is a so-called "seafood price" situation. Some of them may not have sufficient knowledge of mobile application and offer high prices. In particular, some offer exceedingly expensive quotation to cheat those amateur companies, and some simply run away from any post-sales supporting and maintenance services. Many stories about lack of maintenance or unprofessional conduct have been heard.

What Dr. Lee heard from SMEs:
Experienced SMEs or IT people will know that many apparently usable mobile applications always face different practical problems in the real world.

In view of the difficulties that SMEs often encounter in digital upgrading, Dr. Lee launched a social initiative in 2023 with the goal of helping SMEs in Hong Kong to undergo digital transformation. By combining these SMEs' practical experience and academic theories, Dr. Lee will build some mobile application examples. The KPI's of these proposed examples will be:
(1) Whether the mobile application can be integrated into the SME's business model effectively.
(2) Whether the mobile apps can be maintained for a long time with minimal resources.

In the long run, it is hoped that through these mobile application examples, local SMEs wishing to digitally upgrade will
(1) have successful cases to refer to
(2) not need to spend a lot of money and time on software development and eventually find out that it is not effective 
(3) develop cost-effective and business-improving mobile applications

Applications for the "2023 Free Mobile Application Development Project" are being accepted based on the following selection criteria:

(1) adequately represent Hong Kong values
(2) comply with the environmental, social and governance (ESG) requirements 
(3) the potential value of mobile apps in business operations
(4) general applicability to other SMEs
(5) the complexity and cost of building the mobile application
